Randy was born in Windsor, NC to Thomas and Viola Jefferson. He was baptized in the Star Bethlehem Baptist Church. In 1981, Randy began a 20-plus-year career in the Ossining Police Department, advancing in rank to Sergeant.
Randy inspired youth and adults in his community with his uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. He began a second professional career in the kitchen—cooking was his lifelong passion. Randy truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures.
Cherishing his memory are his wife Robin, sons Richard and Ryan (Joseph J Reilly); his parents, Thomas and Viola, and his siblings, Gwenda Jordan (Hubert), Cedric Jefferson, Priscilla White (Steven), and Sharon Boyd (Ken). Randy is also survived by his aunts and uncle, his loving nieces and nephews, a host of cousins and good friends and, of course, his dog, Ruby.
A memorial will be held on Thursday, July 25 at Star Bethlehem Baptist Church on 304 Spring St. in Ossining. Visiting hour are from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a Service at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation either to the family or to the American Heart Association in his memory.
